450r?????
On the dirt wheels site: http://www.dirtwheelsmag.com/newsite/news.asp
Sept. 23 New Honda Sport Quad - Part of the article said that Honda was going to release a
CRF 450 but decided not to because it would cut into sales of the existing 400EX's in warehouses.
I'm not sure if this is old news or not. But I have noticed some dealer ads for the 400EX for $4500.
It retails for: $5699. One thing is for sure! People can get a better deal on the 400EX than on a
brand new CRF 450 that alot of people are going to want. I'm getting tired of waiting and have considered the Z400. But I might go for the 400EX at a cheaper sale price. I don't have to be the
fastest, just faster.

The ads I saw were online. I think in one of the trader sites.
cgranda@ionet.net -400EX for I think $4499.
info@abernathyonline.com -400EX -I think $4450.
jawwls@aol.com -400EX I think $4699.
Even if these dealers are not in your state. It shows that the local dealers should
have some room to work with the price. Make them work with the price and if they don't.
Then go to the next dealer. Someone will want the sale.

I think there might be a better chance of Honda coming out with a 650 EX. Recently with the
baja version of the Rincon 650. They are doing the same thing Kawasaki did when they took the 650
Prairie and made it into a duner. Now they are coming out with the Kawasaki KFX 700.
I think that Honda was just seeing how a 2-wheel version of the Rincon would do as a sport quad.
Just my opinion. What do you think?

Personally, I would rather see a CRF450 come out but I think there is a good chance for the 650EX.
I think Honda might want to compete with the DS650, Raptor, and KFX700. I've noticed that the 300EX
isn't in the UK 2003 Honda lineup. Maybe Honda will have the 400EX closer to the 300EX position then the 450EX and 650EX. Maybe the 400EX would bump the older 300EX to make room.

Yeah i could see honda producing a crf450r powerplant for a new quad, while they get rid of the 400ex. it would be a nice quad. honda needs a 400cc 2 stroke or somthing within that area of displacement but i'm guessing they wouldn't do that because 2 strokes are slowly being phased out......its sad.
