Rincon,
The 450 Foreman has all the power you could ever need. Now when it comes down to speed it might not be as fast as the rest but I think 86KPH is all I would ever need considering I am not racing it. My buddy has pulled and pushed everything and he keeps up with the pack even with his wife sitting on the back. I guess this is why I post in the Honda forum though...oh well.

Hey catcrazy......noone has any problem with you being in love with your machine, but don't go talking trash about other machines just because they are not the same as yours....if you're gonna talk about smokin' a machine, and talk about speed, don't use Arctic Cat in the same sentence....i think the arctic cat is a great machine, tons of torque...but don't confuse power with speed.

Can't talk about the kodiak as I've never ridden one, but I've got a 99 450ES that is great.
I originally purchased it for hunting, but a buddy got me takin it to the sand dunes in Oregon. I'm pushing 1500 miles of which about 1300 are in the sand and trails (the rest is logging roads, etc). Never had any work done except oil, oil filter and air filter (and I change those religiously). I push the bike hard in the dunes (that's why I bought a Bombardiar DS650 this year). Wide open on the flats and hill climbs, towing other quads back to the truck when they break down, jumping it (4ft high and 28ft distance so far), wheelies for over 100 yds, you name it this bike will do it.
I don't know how you are going to use the bike so just listen to what everyone has to say about the Kodiak and the Honda then make your own decision based on how you are going to use it.
BTW - for anyone who cares, the jumping info may not be impressive for sport bikes, but figure the Honda is close to 600 lbs and I'm over 250. Thats a lot of weight to be putting that high and that far (in the same jump).

Hey nytephyr - any tips on how you are getting your 99 450es into a wheelie? I can get my Kawi P650 up in front, but my 2002 450 ES doesn't want to come up so easy . . .
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I have a 2002 450S and it's a fine machine with plenty of power. But, it is kind of slow. It really could use a 6th gear. A lot of my riding is on trails, and a little more top end speed would be nice. The 450 is great when I'm tooling around the woods, or on a technical trail or in the mud. But if I need to ride to get somewhere, I jump on the Rubicon. One minor point, the 450 does ride better than the Rubicon.

swampcat - yeah, the 450 is pretty nose heavy but wheelies can be done. IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO RIDE A WHEELIE, THEN DON'T TRY AND LEARN ON A 450!!!!!!!
here's the trick (only try this at YOUR own risk):
put it in second gear (1st is to low)
make sure you have plenty of flat, good traction ground (sand, gravel road, just not pavement)
lean forward and then throw your weight back hard and gas it
once the front comes up more than 6 inches it will come up alot easier and faster so watch out (i've put mine over twice)
if you feather the throttle right and have good balance, you can keep the front up for quite a ways, but the 450 is not geared for wheelies so you can't just wheelie with power alone
i managed the 100 yds by putting my right knee on the seet and gassing it while pulling back
