Adding a cooling fan

BigMan-
I checked some parts magazines for you. Dennis kirk has generic coolers ranging from 160 -230 dollars. They do not have fans, but claim a 20 degree heat reduction or better. They use hose barb fitting and clamps.
No joke, if you go to your local parts house like Al's Auto Supply,Shucks, Pep Boys etc.. you can get an assortment of oil coolers and trany coolers that would work perfectly on your bike. They have all different sizes and the best part is that they are not marked up 750%. They average $19.99 to $49.99. At least take a look before you get screwed!!
Good Luck!!

Why the HELL would you put a tacky oil cooler when you can put something that is light wieght and looks good and is about $80 to 100 less than a oil cooler.
The cheepest oil cooler I have seen has been $167.99 and you have to drill and tap you case for an oil cooler and there is a good possibilty that it would get full of mud and not do anything to help keep your motor cool.
And the Nascar idea keeps your motor up to 20 deg. cooler then any oil cooler.
So the best thing to do is buy the cooler kit.and it will fit any bike or atv.

bigmanMH.If you have a manual for your machine it should tell you what plugs to run. Most that i've seen show a plug for real cold weather, average weather, and high speed or hot weather.Ican't tell you a specific number plug i wish i knew.I run a hotter plug in my street bike in the winter b/c it makes the engine run hotter. It also has a reccomendation for a colder plug for extended high speed riding where temperatures could get extreme. And i'm pretty sure my 300 ex has some plug reccomendation in the manual for varying climates and loads. You may lose some power with a colder plug but i wouldn't think much noticeable.
My buddy's 99 400 ex has a oil cooler on it you may see about one of those.I think an oil cooler would be the sure fix for your problem, but a fan still wouldn't hurt if you not going over a few miles an hour.Remember an oil cooler only works when there's air passing it.
