jets size for esr 330r
#1
I put in a esr 330r with pipe, new 39mm carb and rad valve for my 250r. I'm from Indiana so what are most people running with main jets and slow jets? Or will I need to rejet it at all? Also did any body have problems with the two bolts on the front of the jug to get them tight?

What bolts on the front of the jug? The exhaust flange? Start off high. A lot of the jetting depends on the weather conditions, altitude, ect. Id start at someplace around a .180 and work your way down from there.

I had a 330 mildly ported with a K&N, Paul Turner race pipe, Keihin 38mm Airstryker, and Delta-V-Force reeds.
I used a 180-185 main jet in mine at sea level.
But as stated before, that is just a starting point.
You need to do a couple of jetting runs with a fresh white plug to know for sure where you stand.

When adjusting the clip on the needle of the slide, which end of the needle do you count from for the first adjustment is it near the point of the needle or near the flat end? Is the 5th adjustment at the flat end? Also is there one jet or two jets in a 39mm carb? I found the one in the bottom of the carb.

I'd go much fatter than a 180, I'm running a 200 main with a 55 pilot. Also depends on your altitude, I'm around 650' above sea level, you're probably close to that in Indiana. I have a ESR 310 with a 38mm airstryker.

You count clip position from the top (flat part)
so, from top to bottom, it is 1-5 (5 being closest to the pointed part of the needle).
There are two jets in a 39mm carb (1 pilot jet for the slow circuit, and one main jet for 3/4-full throttle).
Hope this helps.
Oh yeah, if you don't have a manual, you need to get one.
