This might help. I know that this forecast sales from Dealer News is for dirtbikes but, Honda 122,454 units. Yamaha 81,741 units. Suzuki 24,877 units. Kawaski 28,937 units. Ktm 15,042 units. This should tell alot about what most people think about any one Co..

PS. Price some of the parts for the Eiger and the Rancher. Like fenders,a/arms (drive belt Eiger)and racks.

Ramg66, I have had belt drive machines and know what they are and aren't capable of and if you are an aggressive rider at all, you will hate belts also. Simply riding around packed trails, only riding through 8" of water and gawking at the scenery are fine riding conditions for belt drive machines. But if you ride like me and the people I ride with, you won't get to far with belt drive. We ride fast, hard, and through every kind of $hit you could possibly imagine in a day. From water up to the bars and then into the muskeg and then up a mountain all within 15 minutes. Sorry, but belt drives can't cut it. Even with clutch kits. My buddy has a new Vinson and after 2 belts being burnt and $600 on sheaves, he wants gears back. They might be fine for the old lady or kids or for NANCY BOY riders, but real men ride with gears!!! My suggestion to Rockhead is to go with the rancher, the reliability is unmatched.

I agree swamp, if you are very agressive get the gears. Not all belt drive bikes are equall, some do ok in the water and some do not. I guess it depends on where they put the tranny intake and the grizz 660 and prairie 650 are way up high not sure about the eiger or vinson. I didn't think belt parts could cost that much, so much for the idea that rubicon tranny costs way to much.

I'm trying to view the new responses on this thread. It shows that there are 26 but I only count 20 with one on the second page. I've been having a problem getting the current topics to come up. I try clicking on "today's new topics", # of days to post, navigation section, anything to get a current time and topics to come up. Sometimes, I'll logout and then click the ok in box and it still shows I'm logged in at top right of page. I spend most of my time trying to get current day and topics to come up. I've only been having these problems for about a week. Anyone else having problems? I've tied to e-mail the moderators but my e-mails won't go through.

Swamp, Ever since I got my Eiger I have been totally impressed with the belt drive, I do ride pretty tough on it too, Ive had water up to the bars too (by accident) with no probs, maybe I dont ride as rough as you or maybe belt drives are better these days or maybe I havent put enough miles for it to mess up (around 500) but its going to take alot more than your comments to change my mind, all I know is my leg is never sore anymore and I dont have to always think about what gear i'm in. Go w/ the Eiger 5 sp. It will easily outrun and out perform a 450 muchless a rancher. Reliability is excellent too. Honda is a reliable bike though...
