There is no doubt I would go with the 400EX. With your weight and size the 400EX is going to fit you like a glove and be pretty fast too.
Not knowing what type of dirtbikes you have had in the past it could seem like the quad is slow in comparison though, but the 400EX will still be fun.

If you want a quad that is fast buy a Polaris Predator 500. I had a 02' 400ex that I traded in. It was a good quad, I never had any problems with it but it just wasn't fast enough. If you want a sport quad get the Predator its the best "overall package". I've had mine for about 5 months and haven't had a single problem with it. Its as fast as anything out there and has better handling and suspension than everything else in stock form.
If your dead set on a Honda...BUY THE 400EX!!!
I would buy a White Bros. slip-on E-Series silencer, throw in a 155 main jet, put on a K&N, and throw the air box lid away.

My girlfriend just bought the 400ex. We went out to the dealer and when she saw the 300ex I knew she didn't want it. She is 5'8'' and it was too small for her. She only weighs 117lbs and is a first time rider (other than riding my srambler). We went out last weekend and she really enjoyed the bike, docile enough for trail riding but fast enough to be exciting. She even got used to the clutch quickly.
We both recommend the 400 over the 300. After all the rebates Tri County Honda sold us the 2003 for $4450 OTD. We live out of state and don't have to pay tax.

The 400ex sounds like your best bet. It has ample power, excellent handling, and can grow with your skills.
The predator seems to be a very good quad, but I have not seen one so I have no first hand knowledge. I am not sure that an unexperienced quad rider would want to start out on such a high performance machine. I do know that the 400ex's can be found very cheap, new or used.
