When did he mention a Raptor? I keep scrolling up and down, can't seem to find that post. 250r? Time to get out of the 80's. 4 stroke is going to be where it's at. The 400ex is a great quad but if your looking for speed, there are more other there. You'll hear all the Honda fans rootin for the 400ex, but their just pizzed cause Honda didn't come out with that "Sport" quad they promised last season, Honda was spending too much time and money on their new automatic 4x4, which from what I'm hearing is really working out great. So maybe this season they will come out with a new quad to keep up with the big bores, ie: DS650, Raptor 660R, Predator 500.

Craptor (raptor). I still think that i would go with the 400ex unless you want to carry a toolbag on ur back. I have rode both(and i know some polaris man will argue) and i would have to stick to the 400ex it is way more dependable.
Unless you can't handle shifting then go with the polaris. That is why most of these people go to polaris they are tired of getting smoked by someone who knows how to go thru the gears. lol

I have both. Both are great. Depending on who you are and what you want to do with them. The 400ex will definately out handle the Scrambler. I am 6'3 and 220 lbs. For me, in the stock form the Scrambler out jumps the 400ex. I bottom the 400 out, but the Scrambler lands with suspension to spare. I ride mostly with a predator, a Canondale and just about any other comparable quad out there. The Scrambler is comparable in speed, but it is like riding a Clydesdale in the Kentucky Derby. The thing is a horse. Forget about high speed turns, you can do them, but the rest of the guys will be passing you. Also, deep water crossing can be a real downer on the Scrambler. Get the belt wet and you can kiss your ridding goodby for a while. Quality wise, I like the Honda. But the Polaris won't dissapoint you either.

If you want a great quad with 4-wheel drive and reverse, it's going to be the Scrambler 500 4x4. If you want a great quad without 4-wheel drive and reverse, go with the Scrambler 500. If you want all out raw speed and power, go with the Predator 500. Either way, I would go with Polaris. I've ridden just about everything out there except a C-Dale, and well, glad I didn't get hooked on that one.

but what do you expect from a company that hasn't change it in how long now?
I'll be the first to admit that Honda has really let the sport market down, especially with what is out there right now. I've seen more problems with Polaris 4x4s in the years I've been riding than with their 2 wheel drives and other competive brands. Stick with the Honda or go to another brand if you want more power.
hutchies,
By the way, I used to own a Polaris, I know how to shift (see the 400EX I have now) and was never beaten by a manual shift machine on my former Sport 400.

What do some of u mean by 'get out of the 80's 4 stroke is where u need to be'? who cares if they stop making 2 strokes theyre still gonna be out there beating ur asses. some of u four stroke owners are just in denial or something about getting beat by a 250 or at most a 370 that was made back in 86 as opposed to ur bigger dual carbs,doch,5 valve 500, 650, 660 with the newest technology for a qaud available today. Polaris are girl quads and for ppl that dont know how to use a quad, the crapator (predator) is a nice attempt but just dont cut it.... its kinda sad actually. as ive said b4 the 400ex is the only 4 stroke worth buying
