Default Recon winch?

Does anyone have a winch on their Recon? Do you use the winch alot? I was thinking about a Superwinch but they don't seem to have a mount for the Recon. (At least through the companies I've checked into)
Tusk has a winch and mount for the Recon but I'm not familiar with the brand. I don't want to pay the price for a Warn. The Warn also weighs more than the other two.

Default Recon winch?

I have a superwinch 1500lbs winch on my recon. I have a kimpex mount that is one of the ones that mount under the front of it. It comes with the plate and bolts and a roller fairlead. I haven't had any problems with my winch yet but I've only had it on since last November.

01RedRecon- Have you used your winch much? Where did you get your Kimpex mount? I'm having trouble finding a mount that is compatible with the Superwinch. I was thinking about getting the Superwinch ATV2000. I think the only difference between the 1500lb. and 2000lb. (in the Superwinch) is the length of the cable. (25' and 50') Have you found yourself in a situation where you've needed more cable length? I have never needed a winch but if I buy one I might.

Default Recon winch?

I have used my winch probally around 6imes and only once when I was stuck. Other times has just been loading it on the trailer when the ramp was ice and pulling out other wheelers. I haven't had any problems with the cable being short but I carry some extra rope if I do come up short. The cable on the atv 2000 winch is also thicker. I got my mount at a local parts shop but you should be able to get one from any place that sells kimpex things. It looks basically the same as the Tusk mount I think.

01redrecon- After you put the winch on did it effect the handling, jumping, tree hopping, etc. with the extra weight in the front? Can you tell that the winch is there compared to before you installed it?

Default Recon winch?

The only thing that I noticed was it to a little bit more effort to pull a wheelie but it is still nothing major and they are still easy to do, just gotta add a little more force. As far as handling problems I haven't noticed anything. The winch isn;t all that heavy but the bigger ones may affect it a little bit but I wouldn't think it would be anything major.

Default Recon winch?

Quad Boss, Cycle Country, Oxlite and CMP all make under the hood mounts for your Recon that will work with a Super Winch.
