Rancher cold starting pain.
#13
Hi Terry
How are you? I was just checking through the forums here and saw that you were having starting problems. So far my 450es has always started with no problem. We have had temperatures downwards of -35 Celsius and I have yet to even need to use the primer. As one of the other fellas had mentioned turn the key on first, give it a second or two for the carb heater to start, then pull the choke and start. Do Not use the primer button unless it will not start this way ( primer is generally only needed if the machine sits for extended periods in cold weather). If you are still have trouble I would suggest taking the machine in to have the carb adjustments, choke cable, and carb heater checked. If you haven't taken it in for your first checkup yet that may be the problem. New cables strech and need to be adjusted. Hope this helps.
