Well 1Bad Warrior, I don't have a problem with Yamaha, used to have a blaster a long time ago. But look how long Yamaha went without making a new sport quad! They only had the Blaster, Banshee, and Warrior How long before the Raptor came out. I agree Honda needs to get their tail in gear, but don't degrade honda, because all the major manufactures have had their droughts before. Maybe Honda's waiting to see what all the others have got to prove, before they unleash their beast. I honestly don't know, but if it ain't announced in a year or two, they are going to loose a customer.

The preadator is even more heavy than the raptor. And its slower. Yeah I said its slower. I raced several at the dunes on my raptor and i wasnt impressed with their speed. Lets you and me see who can jump farthest on our stock quads. When honda's new bike comes out, I would bet my money that it wont be a tank like all the new thumpers. The only new bike im impressed with is the Cannondale, and the Gas Gas bikes. Those Gas Gas bikes have all our ***'s owned.

"Hmm, what throne would that be, the Toilet, LOL. Face it, Honda is BEAT, and always will be. dont get me wrong, the 400 EX is a good "Beginner" Sport quad, but untill they make some thing that can compete with a Raptor or a Predator (yea right), they will always be in "LAST".
read "1badWarrior's" post, it makes sence and has alot of truth in it!"
that is the dumbest, most imature post I've heard in a while.... what are you 13?
Honda took the 250R frame and made it better and stronger (improved the best stock frame ever made) which now makes it the best stock frame EVER, to date.... then, they were the first to put a high-performance 4-stroke engine in that best-ever designed frame....
how is that "the toilet", or "beat", or "beginner", or "last" ??? you don't know what you are talking about....
the DS's, Raptor's, V-Force's, and Predator's are all over-weight quads with decent power....
in my opinion ALL new sport quads are overweight.... but at least Honda, Suzuki, and Cannondale have tried to keep the weight less than 375..... all the Z or EX needs to be a real racer is a big bore kit...... all the other quads need to go on a MAJOR diet.... how are you gonna do that?
the 400EX just in the last few years has taken over the MX tracks and GNCC races from the 250R.... and it will continue to dominate until the NEXT Honda sport quad is released..... face it, the only quad that can beat a Honda all-around, is a next generation Honda.
440EX's also are no joke in the dunes or at BAJA either...
the Raptor outsells all other sport quads because it is marketed as, and has proven to be the fastest and best looking quad, with the most features, and most bolt-on potential of any quad... I like Raptor's for that reason, and if I were to buy a new quad right now it would be a Raptor for trail riding... HOWEVER, if I were to start racing MX or GNCC, I'd send my 400EX to Curtis Sparks, thrown some good shocks on it, and never think twice
PS... my Honda is a 2000 (which was purchased in '99) and has NEVER been to the shop for a repair..... only maintenance (valves and jetting)... still running the same battery
and it has been ridden on average every weekend, been drowned under water, been jumped extensively, raged in the snow often, thrashed the beach in 100 degree weather, rolled down hils, flipped, crashed, raced on several MX tracks, you name it...
bullet-proof is not just a saying....
Honda will be the King of the Jungle again someday, and the Predator & Raptor will be the prey

Phat Daddy I agree with you 100% it did take Yamaha awhile to make a new ATV and I am not degrading any brand of ATV's. I consider myself a fan of the Sport ATV market though I do tend to lean to the Yamaha lineup just like most of you on here go for the Honda side. I think it's wonderful that all these sport quads are starting to come out it keeps prices low and the market fresh. DSAPP I am not bashing Honda at all I think the 400EX is a great quad my friend has one and it is a blast to play around. And I agree you can take the 400EX put in a big bore kit and with the right rider you can start winning races pretty quick. I was going along with your statement until you get to the point where I feel most Honda fans start getting cocky "Honda took the 250R frame and made it better and stronger (improved the best stock frame ever made) which now makes it the best stock frame EVER, to date.... then, they were the first to put a high-performance 4-stroke engine in that best-ever designed frame" and then this one
"and it will continue to dominate until the NEXT Honda sport quad is released..... face it, the only quad that can beat a Honda all-around, is a next generation Honda." Most Honda guys think that Honda is and always will be number and you never ever give any other brands a chance. As far as bulletproof let me tell you bulletproof since you brought up your 400EX let me bring up my Warrior I had that Warrior for 4 years never once had a problem with was still running on the factory battery until two weeks ago. It never missed a beat I ran it through mud, a couple fences(long story), flipped coming out of a turn, ran it way too lean for a couple hot summer days, jumped it as much as I could and it never missed a beat. So yeah I know bulletproof.

once honda releases this so called quad it's going to better than alot of people think you can't compare the two quads predator and a raptor they are two different quads also a raptor won't compete with a predator out of the box sure you can fix it up to compete with it but you can't put them in the same catgory the rator is a great trail bike out of box like the z and kfx the predator and cannondale are race quads out of the box honda isn't going to build a race quad out of the box they want something to compete with the z 400 anyway what ever they come out with it wont be better than the raptor predator or cannondale it's just not in their blood whyyou ask? quad racing isn't quite as big as supercross or motorcross yet someday it will hopefully see ya later

honda is beat right but you got to remember one thing is honda started all this crap with four wheeler wars in 1999 it was them who came back with something and it was great back thenwhy there wasn't anything else ust ex and as time went on everyone else jumped in and started their own thing the banshee is bad but the sales of that dinosaur have been bad for years.when the ex came out i had friends selling their banshees and getting ex's but for a beat atv like the ex one thing i can say is not bad for atv of the decade when honda comes out with their new one you will see alot of people selling their z400 kfx 400 raptors and so on to get one trust me just buy your weekly cycle trader in a couple of months and go to your honda dealer and see all the others sitting in their used section when the new one is sold out for months not to get you mad man but slow down on what you are saying before it comes back at you in red at 85 mph later man

Honda doesnt need something to compete with the kawasuki's, the ex is close w/ a pipe anyway. When honda comes out with its new quad, probably a 450, it will be a landmark machine. They rode suzuki's back and released a 2 stroke that dominated the market for a decade and a half. They started the 4 stroke revolution with the ex. We wouldnt have all of these great quads today if it werent for the 400ex doing so well. When the new honda comes out, it will be worth the wait.

the 500 pred. suspension and handling is best thing out there right now for stock. If you have never ridden one I suggest you go do it. This thing flies , handles , and lands the best out of all stock framed quads right now. It lands so soft it is unbelievable. Handleing in the corners is top notch also. And yes it is fast stock. I thought it was too heavy by the listed weight also but after I rode one my mind changed totally. Go jump and race one and you will change your mind also. My brother in-law has a 400ex and I ride it alot but we both agree compared to my new 500 it is nothing. Later
