Default lone star a arms on a 400ex

Help! Has anyone ever installed some rec +2+1 lone star a arms on a 400 ex. The Grease zerts seem to interfear with the frame and I wanted to know if they are to be removed and/or are there plugs that are supposed to be used instead?!

my friend has the same ones on his EX, but he had a pro install his. the grease zerts are still there on his so you probably dont have to take them off.
