There was one on my 300EX when I got it but I didn't like how loud it was so I took it off and got a White Brothers full exhaust kit... The White Brothers gave it more power and wasn't quite as loud. I also bought the quiet core insert to add to it if I want to quiet it down some more...

My wife has a 97 300ex. We(or I should say I) put a E-series white Brose pipe on, K&n Filter, 142 jet and it screams. For stability I added 400ex a-arms and kept the stock 300ex shocks. It squats a little, but my wife feels very stable and safe. One trip to glamis, my 86 suzuki quadracer blew a head gasket, and i rode the 300ex while my wife rode in a friends buggy. that was the first time I ran it hard, and I was impressed. Even with the squaty stance, I never bottomed out(Shocks were on stiffest setting). This is a bike I know we'll have for a while.

Hey,

well i ended up buying a '97 Warrior. its in pretty good shape and i got a good deal on it. ($1400). so basically that's why i bought it (right time, right price). plus the general opinion is that the warrior is a tad faster, which is good for me. the 300ex handles better, but since i ride with the big/heavy polaris scramblers i don't think i'll get out-handled by them even with the warrior, so i should be ok. haven't really had a chance to ride it yet though, been doing some maintance work so far.

dg pipe - my new warrior has the full dg pipe on it. and yes, it's very loud. i'm pretty sure all my neighbors now hate me, lol. it doesn't sound bad, but it's too loud in my opinion. i've read good things about the e-series pipes though.

thanks for all the replies!

happy trails,
bigmac

Hey congeatualtions on getting the Warrior! I know several people who have those and although they aren't quite as nimble in the woods they are a decent quad. Very tough and reliable. I think you will like it just fine!

You'll enjoy riding the Warrior and you bought it at a great price. I just want to say that it was refreshing to read a question that states the exact amount you wanted to spend. Especially since it wasn't a huge amount. There are so many people that say stuff like :" I want a sport quad so what should I get?". Then alot of people say one specific quad type without knowing the person's experience level, size, age, where they'll ride or what they can afford. It was just nice for a change.
