Wife wants more power for her 300ex.I have already added FMF megmax2 with header,ported box,unifilter,rejetted,14tooth front sprocket.she loves the low and mid for trails but there is no top end for the dunes.I know a cam,high comp piston,modified rev box and some porting will definitely do the job as well as putting my 400ex carb on it when I get a 39fcr for mine.Question is who has done the cam,piston setup.What did you get and how is it.How much stonger does top pull and how is it off line.Currently looking at mid race web cam with springs and shortened guides.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Also who has put 39fcr carb on 400ex.How is throttle response and performance gain over stock rejetted on mod engine?Thanks again.

 

Why not just get her a 400 and spend about the same you already have...i have a 300 and the only reason i like it better is because it has reverse but if i had the money you had spent on her 300 i would have just bought a 400 although not putting down the 300 cause i love mine!!!!!!!!!

Believe me she wants the power of the 400 just not the size of it.She is 5-6,135.By no means a frail women or a timid rider but the 300 fits her riding position perfectly.When she rides my 400 she always says she has to move around way to much to control it in turns and jumps.She gets tired quicker on the 400.She still loves riding it but only for a short time.So I will need to hop up her 300.

 

yea you might try the piston and cam thing. and if that doesn't do the trick maybe a 330 kit. later
