well ben, i would have to go with the 465 stroker motor on alcohol. Ive heard they run pretty good !

 

the cheepest is to 1 Remove choke plate and choke bar.
2 Rejet piolot and main jet.
3 Remove air box lid.
4 Change gearing, conounter sprocket down one tooth to 14.
5 Air filter K&N
6 Rev limeter
7 Pipe
you should be able to do al of this for around $500.00 less if you buy used. These changes will make a big change in the power.

 

Don't forget to adjust your throttle cable. They come from the factory with plenty of adjustment left in them. You should have no more than 1/8" of play in it.

 

cheapest (and best) mods for a 400EX... how about trading it in on a KFX/LT-Z400?!?! hehehe.... I kiiiiiid, I kiiiiiid.... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

haha alaskaYFM. 989ex is one of my best friends and i tell him he shouldve got a z400/kfx about everytime hes says their about the same power. Its ok go hard as you want on him lol he can take it
