Default Best Sport Quad

ive had a foreman 400 for 5 years now and i use it pretty much like a sport quad except for the jumping part. I usually ride on hardpack and occasianally a little mud and light hill climbing. I was wondering which honda Sportrax atv would you guys recomend for a beginner in the sport class the 250ex the 300ex or the 400ex if anyone has some suggestions it would be a big help

The 400ex is great for beginners. It's reliable, predictable and has decent power. The suspension isn't that bad, but your going to stick a lot into it in just gas. I don't know if there is anyone that is running the cheep stuff in theirs, but from what I understand the book says to run prem.

Dont worry about the 400 being too much. Its a very forgiving bike and easy to ride.

Since you asked what Honda Sportrax you should get, I am thinking a Raptor.

Seriously........400ex great for beginners and you can modify it to be a pretty nasty machine when time and money permits.

you have been riding for 5 years i wouldn't sell yourself short 5 years is plenty of expeirence get a 400 ex it is a great quad test ride a kfx 400 or a z 400 before you commit yourself to a sport quad cause you are only going to get better then want more and the kfx and z (same quad) has alot more aftermarket kits and parts since they are new and better and the ex is on it's way out but if also wait awhilehonda has their new comming out soon who knows when but it's comming but shop around before you throw your money down on the table ok but what ever you get they all are great quads good luck in finding what you like

cmon guys, he was looking at entry level spot quads, not the most powerful hi-po's on the market. Stop trying to rub your raptor/ds650/predator bias off on the man when he didnt even ask about them. You arent helping, just shut up.

If you are looking at entry level but still want to have some speed, power, and fun, the 400ex is a great bet. If you are buying used, you can find some great deals on these quads. If you are buying new, there is another option to consider. Since you are using it for recreational purposes, you have the choice of the 400ex, or the suzuki z400/ kawaszki kfx 400. (they are the same bike with different plastic colors.) They msrp for the same 5699 that the 400ex does. They are a little nicer bike with liquid cooling, reverse, and a somewhat more powerful engine. If you need any more info, just ask, were here.
