The 400ex is just a slight upgrade to the 300ex, personally. If you have 5 years experience, get the 400ex before you consider the 300ex. I think the 300ex was just made for the "kids" that are too big for kid quads, or for people just starting out in the sport. If you feel the 400ex is too much bike, just don't mash the throttle. It's a fun bike, wheelies great, bycicle's awesome and handles very well for it's speed.

then you upgrade it. but it wont be 6 months. Many people are very happy with their 400ex's. You dont have to be able to do 80mph on a quad to have fun.

 

Very true MADDOG, my brother-in-law has been riding his 400ex for well over a year, and just loves it. He doesn't see any reason to buy another quad, since his riding ability and places where we ride, are somewhat close to ours. For where we ride, it's basically a gravel pit, so everyone stays right up with each other anyway. (Here I am, a Polaris owner defending a Honda. Boy am I gonna hear it back in the Polaris forum! LOL)
