The mettalic pads will last long, but because it's metal to metal and when the pads are finshed you often have to replace the brake disc at the same time.

The metal pads are much longer lasting than the kevlar ones. I race hare scramblers in the midwest and all that we use is the EBC metal pads. In raceing in the mud I can wear out a kevlar set in one ride. The metal ones only last use about 3-5 races. With play riding you should be able to get a good year out of the metal pads. The kevlar ones will stop the quad in a shorter distance, but they don't like the mud.
The metal ones will wear more on the roter, but it still lasts us over a year. We are still on the orginal front roters on all of the quads. I have been told that the Dunlop metal pads last a little longer. We are trying them out know on the 400, being that it uses them up faster than the 250's.
