Ernie,

IF you go that high in compression on a 440 you will have problems with the cases cracking. You sure you want to go that high?

I am just trying to help out a friend who wants to build a fast quad. He wants 13:1 period, I am trying to talk him out of it and just get a 11:1 because he likes riding real hard and does not take of it.

I will mention your comments to him smitty911, The Honda cylinder head and jug don't look like they could take a lot of abuse from a high compression piston. He blew the first head gasket with the 11:1, so I told him what makes him think that the 13:1 will hold.

There is more to compression than just the piston. You need to consider the duration/lift of the cam too. If the valves are open longer and wider, than compression will be altered because of it.

Very True sandneck, he did all the damage the first time with the stock cam. This time he purchased a stage two Hot Cams. I am going to strongly recommend staying with the 11:1 piston.

Why put the smaller of the two cams in if you want all the power you can get? Use that stage II cam

If you have a hot cam you probably have stock rockers, I wouldn't mess with something that high performance if you don't want to at least harden the rocker arms.
