Default tires for rincon?

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to go with the 27" 589 package with C Series rims. I am going to keep the stock setup for dry riding but have the 589's on standby for wet conditions. The extra clearance will also be nice from the 27" tire. This picture helped with the choice

Default tires for rincon?

Hey there schef

I have been thinking about the same thing 589's and stock for summer. I was thinking 26" for power loss and then seen that the 9x12x26 weigh 28lbs and the 9x12x27 weigh in at a grand total of 28.1 lbs according to the info on HL tire specs. For the rear I see that the 589's only come in 11x12x27 at 30.9 lbs which is less than the 12x12x26 at 33lbs. So if weight is a factor then from the info on HL 27"s is the way to go. But the big question is will the 1" bigger tire (diameter) be the difference in power loss? Let me know what you think?

Thanks PE101

I didn't know that the weights were that close, but it is hard to say no when they are that close. I just ordered my set of 27" 589's so it should be a week or so before I can tell you what I think. I did notice that high lifter had good prices, but there is no shipping charges from ATVgear.com.

You want stock size and have money, go with Mudrunners.

You want stock size and want to go cheaper, go with Bear Claws.

You want 27's and something that will do about anything the big mud tires will and still give you a good ride, go with Bi/Tri-Claws. Enough said on that.

I'm not a fan of Mud Bugs. I place them just above blackwaters as a tire with lesser mud capability than the big tires, but with average trail features and still a hefty price tag to go with it. For the money you would spend on them, there are better alternatives.

For the record, a month ago I watch a Rubi with Bi/Tri-claws go through a hole with pretty much utter ease that a 450S with Radial Outlaws got pulled out of and another Rubi with 589's took an eternity of backing up and trying again to get out of. Its a better mud tire easily, and still has a good ride on the trail.

If you aren't looking for something as aggressive, Bear Claws are pretty much the best way to go.
