i think the rubicon is a great trail quad.
where do you think the name comes from.
the Rubicon trail.
they said it was the only quad to complete it with out a single brakedown or problem.
but anyways i ride alot and most of it trails.
i've only had my rubicon 4 months and i've already put a thousand miles on it.
and my 03 cat 500 had 2600 miles and i road that for 14 months.
minus 3 months of repare work in the shop.
and i'll say my rubicon is better then the cat on the trails.
the rube is better at everything then the cat except for the ground clearence.
i ride with alot of differant quads and my quad is just as good or better the most of them.
i will go up all the hills and through all the mud the bigger quads do and just as good.
and deep water isant a problem its got an awsome snorkel system.
i've had mine up to the headlights and its kept going no probs.
i tryed alot of differant quads out over the last few years.
400 & 450 kodiacs. 600 griz. 660 griz. 450 forman. 350 big red. 03 500 arctic cat manual.
650 p kawie. and the 500 rubicon.
and when my cat broke down my best bud said i could ride his 600 griz.
so we whent out for a ride and after a couple of hours my bud said lets trade so i got on his rubicon and it was like heaven.
after riding it for a few hours i went home.
the next day i went to my local honda, arctic cat, suzuki, kawi, dealer and traded my cat in on a 04 rubicon.
i took a beating on the trade seing i still owed money on the cat.
plus all the upgrades. tires, winch, and more.
but hey i wanted the honda so i made the deal and im glad i did.
fully auto, with d1 for performance and trail riding, d2 for smooth excelleration and taking it easy.
and manual shift for those of us that like to still shift.
plus it has a low range and you still have the three shift sellections in low, and five gears.
and it will do about 25 mph in low.
i havent tryed to push it in low to see how fast it will go, but its fast enuff for the trails and mud i ride.
If you get the rubicon you wont be dissapointed.
i look forword to riding every time im on days off because i cant get enuff of it.
And the suspention is great if its rough i stand up but most of the time i sit.
i just came back for a 100 mile ride and it took us all day there was a 2002 400 kodiac auto.
a 2000 400 kawie, and two rubicons.
about every 20 miles the 2 with the rubber bands had to stop and strech and take a rest were as me i just sat back on my back rest end relaxed and waited for the next leg of the ride
at the end of the day i felt i could ride another 50 and so did my bud but our other freinds were worn right out from all the engine viberations, cause there always reving so much.
mine road smooth as silk.
go for the rube you wont regrete it.
P.S. sorry for the long letter.
P.S.S. look at my page and see the rube swiming.
