White Bros Rev Limiter for 400ex

How much does it cost and does it give you more horsepower and speed? Is it worth it?

The WB CDI box is a good inprovement. It raises the rev limit about 1000 rpm's and changes the timing some. A lot of people have been writing in saying that the WB is just a CDI box from a 96-00 XR250R. The Honda box sells retail at the shops that I have checked at for $90-$100. I have not done this on my 400 yet, but will do this summer after I get my arm out of the cast.

I replied to a similar post about this not too long ago. You are not going to find horsepower adding this to a basically stock engine. Even with all the bolt on goodies (pipe, filter, jet kit), you have to push the bike pretty good to hit the rev limiter in any gear but 1st or 2nd. I have recently installed an aftermarket cam in my EX. Now the bike wants to get to the stock rev limiter pretty easily, and it feels like it is still making power when I hit the limiter. Because of this, I am thinking of getting one of the rev boxes. I think that until you get to this point, your $100 is better spent elsewhere.

It all depends on what kind of riding you do, if you ride sand you will notice the difference right off, or if you do a lot of high speed riding but if you do woods or trail it isnt very noticeable. It make more of a difference if you have a pipe than stock but either way it does not
