I talked to my dealer in Dickson TN yesterday and he advised that he had a meeting the day before with the Honda Rep. He can start ordering his (rationed) inventory for the Rubicon on the 15th of May and can expect delivery with 10 to 14 days!

Just thought I would let ya'll know!

Yep, the dealer that I frequent told me they are taking deposits on the Rubicon. The price is 6999 + set up + freight + tax, etc. In other words there will not be any deals on these things the first year. Maybe next year you can cut a deal.

$7,000 is a lot of money for a toy but I guess its really no more than some of the Big Polaris or the Grizz!

I don't know how it is else where but the Polaris sportsman around here can be picked up for about $6200 I got mine for $6000...The dealer is a friend with a lot of cops though, I think that is the reason I got such a good deal...that is out the door price too, wonder if it will come with 2 or 4 ply tires I think the P tires really suck on the polaris you think you would get more for $6000 bucks at least some 4 plys...

I've seen the sp500 and griz for under $6000 in a Denver,Colo. newspaper. It just depends on how bad the dealer wants to sell them.

Honda puts out good products. These will sell at $7000. Sometimes you pay for what you get

Maybe so, but that monster price tag will make the sportsman look pretty dang good. The Sp500 retails for like $6999, but it normally sells around $6300. The Rubicon being high in demand will keep dealers from dropping off the 7 grand retail, and this could indeed give it that Bombardier effect of a too high sticker price. Thus, lowering the ammount of orders(although they will still be through the roof), and keeping a number of would be Rubicon owners looking at the Sp500. The Rubicon is awesome and all, but other than that fancy tranny and a bigger engine offering, It really doesn't have any major points going for it. A lot of people don't want the automatic and will take a 450 for less money. Mainly, the only ones after Rubicons are the quad crazy freaks like us on this forum, and they don't make up an awful big percentage of those that buy quads. Honda needs to do like yamaha did when they popped out the new kodiak. They slapped the old 386cc engine in the big bear and still kept it in the 300 class price range, thus making it a popular buy. While at the same time, redesigning the kodiak into a smaller auto tranny quad that has its own class. Before, the Kodiak was just a gap filler between big bears and grizzly's and the money difference between the two kept them from selling enough. It was either a little more and you could get a griz, or a bit less and get a big bear that was pretty much in the same class as the old kodiak anyway. I'm guessing that honda is dropping the foreman 400 because it is useless as long as it is priced similar to the 450's. They should drop the 450s to $5900, the ES to $6100, and then settle the Rubicon around $6500. Then the price gap settles and the 450's compete with kodiaks and praries as far as price goes, and the new 500 flagship model compares with the Big boys that the other manufacturers have. Bombardier should lower their price too, because when you are new to the game, the last thing you want is to be the highest priced with a quad that has no real world experience or past owners to brag about it.

I guess you know Andy with me and you posting in here they will have a linching mob after us before dark...hehehe. I like you think one of the major success of the Rubicon with all the other bikes will be to keep the price tag down to $6500 out the door, from what I have read in this post looks like you will be lucky to get one for close to $7400...seems I read before someone posted there would be about a $1400 difference hehehe don't remember who posted that though.
