Hey guys! I am new to the sport of atving. I just rode my first quad a few days ago by my house. It was an 89 Banshee. Absolutly crazy! I couldn't believe the speed it had. Anyways, what is the 250R? I heard it is from Honda and they made it along time ago. I also heard it could beat a Banshee which must be awesome! Could anyone please help me out? Also I want to get a new quad this year? What type should I get? I would be driving on tight, twisting, up trails, big open fields, and sand and gravel pits. Should I get 4wd? 2wd? Please any help on any of these questions would be greatly appreciated!!

First thing to narrow your choices is to figure out if you need a 2 or 4 wheel drive machine. Do you need the extra traction a 4 wheel drive provides? Do you want to spend the extra money for a 4x4?

2 me it sounds like 2wd will do for you, but 4x4 is always a nice ace in the whole to have...

you also need to decide if you want to go the "utility" or "sport" side of 4wheelers...

I think the 2wd drive would be sufficient!

Ok, now do you need racks? Are you looking for more of a sporty ride or are you looking to pull and haul things?

Go for the marbles and buy a 4ooex? If you want a real trail machine that is nearly as fast as the 400, but with way more traction and hop-up potential, get the Polaris Scrambler 400 4x4. This machine is a true sport machine, with a little 4x4 thrown in for good measure. It is RARE that a 250R will win a drag race against a Banshee. If you were impressed with the BAnshee's power, you better check into a Bombardier DS-650, no other production quad can compete. Or get a BAnshee!

I think I would want a sporty ride but, still good on the trails. I would get a banshee but I heard they are not for the novice rider. This will be my first quad ever. And I want to do it right!

Banshee's are fine for beginnig riders just try to find a stock one or one that is not very modified. A stock banshee still has a lot of zing but just a lot more controlable. If you rode one and liked it, get it, or test ride the 300ex/400ex if you don't want the 2 stroke good luck on what you decide and I hope you have as much fun as we all do on all of our different types of machines !
