I just got a Pro Design kill switch, and was wondering where I should connect it. The paper that came with it said to connect one side to the positive side of the coil and the other to ground, but since I don't have a manual yet I'm not sure which wire is the positive side of the coil. I was wondering if I could just connect it inline with either the on/off switch or run/stop switch. What's the best method?

On my 300EX the positive wire is the black with yellow stripe. Yours is probably the same. Your owners manual has a circuit diagram in it. It should tell you what colors are what. The best method is how they recommend, pos. to pos.coil wire, and ground to frame. On my bike there's a grounding connection where my coil assembly mounts to the frame. That's where I grounded my kill switch. If you need any help e-mail me and I'll be glad to help.

okay hombre heres the deal, conect the wire from the kill switch to the small black(positive) wire on the top edge of the coil. then ground the other wire some where on the frame. careful when tapping in on the positive wire its small, don't slice it like i did.
y2k 400ex, WB e-series, k&n jet kit, CEET cover, Pro Design kill switch, more goodies to come!!

You can also tap into the kill sw. wires that run down from the handle. what ever is easier to get to. I always solder my connections for corrosion resistance and reliability. The kill sw. wires are Green and Black/white stripe. The service manual shows the coile wiring as follows: The Black/yellow stripe runs back to the ICM and the othe unlabeled wire is grounded. The factory is shutting down the ICM with the kill sw. and the ign. sw. Hope that helps.
