Default 500 rubicon vs 250EX 0-300 feet on pavement

I have a 500 rubicon. its stock with 7500km on it.

I have a friend that is going to get a 250EX most likely.

My Rubicon will run 0-300 in 6.9-7.2sec.

If you own a 250EX would you please measure off 300 feet and get someone to time you.
Post yur time(s). So he will see how close it is to a 500 rubicon in acceleration.

by distance and time. my rubicon has an actual top speed of 54.4mph

the 250EX would only be 2 or 3 mph slower then that. right?

orangeKFX700thisfall,

No, a 250 EX will not keep up with a 500 Rubicon in a drag race.

Ozarkrider03,

You're right, it won't go 58mph. It'll go a lot faster. As all objects fall to earth at the same rate (barring friction cause by the drag of air resistance), your 250EX should be as fast as the KFX700 V-Force............................... off a cliff that is.

it says its about $6000??? here in the UK you can only just about get a 250ex for that, a 400ex is about $11000 in your currency!!! just shows how ripped off we are

Mike Chero,

Do you think a LT-Z250 would be closer to keeping up with a Rubicon in a drag race?

hayve,

A KFX 700 would be as much or more fun because its an automatic. The CVT tranny will get into the power fast and hold it there untill it winds out on top end. You will allways be in the right gear when yur off then back on the throttle.

I took the spark arrestor out of my Rubicons muffler.

To see if it made a difference. I timed a 300foot run on pavement. 6.75 sec. Thats a 0.25 sec improvement over my stock average. plus the rubi sounds better without the arrestor.

I guess it would all be in the power to weight ratio. The Rubicon will probably get the Z-250 in the top end, though. 500s generally have lots more torque and horsepower than the smaller 250s, but weigh a lot more. So it might take a little longer for the 500 to get there, but it will have a higher speed. I'd say run them and see which is the fastest/quickest. I somehow doubt that the 250 EX is anywhere near the Rubicon though.
