Finally Bought a Quad !

Default Finally Bought a Quad !

I am SO gonna DIE

Ok , So I found a few local for sale and called them this morn

2001 Honda 400ex with abo0t 50 hours on it

Extended warrenty till 2005

Tittle, registered to NH till October

Came with:

~ 4 New Rims & Tires ( I got the Stock Wheels/tires also)
~ Complete Skid plate Package (A-arms,chassis, sWing-arm)
~ PIA Headlights
~ BONE stock engine with Bone Stock Exhaust

Runs like a clock and was pretty much babbied (guy never jumped it or nothing)

Compression seems Great

$3500

I need to give it a tune up and clean it a bit but it runs Very Strong

What is your advice on Riding clothes/protection ??

smokin deal...I would say you should take apart the rear axle and suspension linkage and grease it...save you more money down the road

With a service manual and the help here on the forum a mechanicaly talented person can do about anything with proper time and tools...and if you have a Ford then you are mechanicaly talented

Default Finally Bought a Quad !

Congrats on the quad. Now all you need is a helmet, goggles, gloves, long sleeve shirt, pants, and boots. You need that stuff to fly safely.

Sounds like a nice deal.

only thing, I'd paint those A-Arms to get rid of those paint chips. Rust is the enemy. Even worse if you live near the ocean or dune a lot.

Gloves, helmet and goggles are really the things to get...90 degrees and pants don't mix...atleast not for me I only ride with shorts in the summer...I can't stand boots either...get yourself some skate shoes [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] , long sleeve shirt..noway get a wife beater and call it a day [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img].

Also about the NH registration...you need to get it registerd in your name...that registration is valid for the previous owner....not you.
