My 350X won't start.There is definitely fuel to the carburetor.The ignition coil is in spec. The CDI box I'm not so sure about because I don't have the special tester Honda claims is neccessary to do the test. There is an intermitant(It doesn't seem to spark everytime) spark present when I run the kicker when I perform the spark test,but there is no arc in the plug-gap,there is a spark from the nut portion of the plug that jumps to the head.I though the nut was insulated from the electrode? The color is a VERY weak orange/yellow,not the bright blue I was expecting.The plug and the bike only have 5 hours on them since the rebuild yet the plug is black and sooty in appearance.What is broken on this thing? :? The bike ran fine after the recent re-build and then after I ran her through a mud puddle,she choked a little and then died. WE had to tow it home.The bike started the next day and ran about 50 yards and then died again.It hasn't even TRIED to start since. I'm not the smartest but i would check your jetting if u put a new pipe on it and didnt rejet it right it could do that by being to rich of a mixture. Also u said u were checking a cdi but u should check all them part, the stator, etc. It could be that and if it is a stator then your best bet is to buy one from Ricky Stator for thats where i found them to be the cheapest brand new or go on ebay.

 

With most electricial problem start at the beginning and work your way to the plug. Make sure that all the connections are tight and no corrosion is the first I'd check. After that make sure all you wires are in good shape and it is grounding out some where.

That your ignition can jump that arc would indicate it is ok. Sounds like you have a fouled spark plug, replace it with a new one.
