I know that, you dont think imdo you sorry I was j/k. Correct me if im wrong but with two-strokes there is a (cant think of the word) "power stroke" once every revolution, where four-strokes are every other?, which makes the two stroke almost double the "power" of four strokes but the four strokes make more torque...
First of all he's right the general rule of thumb is that you need double the dicplacement for a 4stroke.

Just piping a blaster won't touch a STOCK 400ex
Actually a piped blaster will keep up with a stock 400ex if you put a good rider on it. In ice racing (with a piped blaster) i kept up to and was actually beat some piped 400exs now some of it had to do to with the rider. Now in a straight up drag race the 400ex would have more top end. However in racing it comes down more to the rider. However to say a blaster would get wasted by the 400ex is a little far off. They should win but off the start they would be close with some mods done to the blaster. Also don't forget the weight advantage with the blaster that always helps things out. So i'm not try to say the blaster is faster just that it doesn't get smoked like some like to think and really it doesn't matter because there is so many varibles in drag racing most importantly the rider. Thats just my 2 cents with that.

Now as for handling and suspension the 400ex is supior in that catagory and will probably fit you better being almost 6 feet.
Sounds like a good deal on the ex and you should grow into it well.

But then you are limited to what you can do to the blaster once you get that much $$$$$$$$$$$ into it. If you are young you can always grow into the 400 and then do some mods. The blaster is alot lighter than the 400 if you are young you can handle it better. [/Q
This is also true i think that once you get a pipe and want more its time to move up to something bigger.

Your decision should also have to due with where you ride and also another important factor is your experience like he said the blaster is a lot easier to throw around. Also its 2stoke vrs 4 some like 2 some like 4 better.

i would try them both out see what you think you might find you like one better then the other.
The blaster is great to learn on but you will want to move on in the future.

Hope that helps just thought i'd come to the defense a bit for the blaster.

a blaster has 18 horsespower and a 400ex has 28. and do you see the blaster competing in the high performance quad shoot outs against raptors and ds 650 and z400 no you see it in teh sport quad shootouts with the worrior and the 300ex.

I had a Blaster bored .10 over with a weisco piston, pipe and silencer, rad valve, uni filter, and it was rejetted. Now i have a 400ex with a stock engine. The stock 400 is so much faster than the Blaster and the Handeling is night and day.

If you want a pipe with akot of power but also have alot of noise, look at Trinity, Curtis Sparks, LRD, or Ct. Then get a K&N power kit for it, that'll add a decent amount of power.
