I see that Adults are into fixing up XR 50's with High Handlebars Suspension,etc to accomadate an Adult rider........Ricky Carmichaels XR 50 is awesome looking.Is this just a Pit craze or are these something we all should have? late,zubbeyboy Carmichaels XR50

 

They full on MX these things. Incredible suspension, alum. frames, billet triple clamps, 125cc big bore kits with 5 speed transmissions. They are bad. I have one and its the shiznit! lol

 

Those things must have some serious spunk for such a small motor. I saw one go down the road the other day (yes, some doofus was riding it on the road - "Look ma, no brains!) and by my estimate the little thing must have been going at least 40 - 45mph easy. It was wound out, but man it was moving on.

 

The second you throw your leg over the xr50 you transorm and start having as much fun as you did the first time you ever rode...I dare anyone to ride my 50 and not be smiling when you are done.

 

Well... it IS a cheap way to get into riding.. Ill give it that much. (like 1500 brand new?!)

And as with any other honda, they are built like tanks and stand up to
the teen/adult abuse quite well. At least my buddies does.. he doesnt even strap it down in the back of his truck...
he just lays it back there! lol

 

Oh dood, stock they do 38 mph. We bought ours for 1200 and paid 200 for an ape hanger setup. You can drop 3k into a 5 speed tranny and another 3k into a 125cc kit. The possibilities are endless. I rode a 125cc 5 speed XR50 and its a little faster then id want to go on a little bike like that. Nice thing is you can jump the **** out of them, crash them, abuse them and they still keep ticking

 

Even Rocky Mountain's latest catalog has several pages devoted to upgrades to make this an adult bike.

 

dabeech is right for once, those XR50's are the shizit. I want one so much. I might get one instead of building a motox quad.

Funny guy... The raptor is finally back together. Im selling that piece before it breaks again. I gotto pay off my new truck. Im planning on buying my own bike this summer instead of borrowing the 400ex. Im either going to get a nice down payment for the 450exr late this year, or find a 250r to fix up, or try to build a monster. Maybe a KTM 525? thumper. I dont know how that is going to work out on a students pay. If i got a 250r it might not stay 2 stroke for very long (i dont like going slow) might try to build my own crf450.
