If you are not sure after the research you have done so far you might want to place a call to the State Police, Sheriff or whatever law enforcement agency patrols the area in question since laws vary state to state (just to be safe)…

Contact your local sheriffs office. You'll find the laws you're interested in not only change from state to state, but also from county to county. Your local sheriff or one of the deputies can give you a straight answer. After all, they're the guys you'll deal with on the road so go with what they tell you.

here in nebraska u can drive it whereever u want just as long as u r doing "farm related"[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] things. i just drive whereever i want and have never got caught. even when i passed a policeman

In the bush Alaska, people just drive the ATV's down the roads. In some of the smaller villages they don't even have cars, just ATV's (and snowmobiles for the winter). But that makes sense, who needs a car when there is less them 1 mile of a road that you can travel on.
