I’d say that’s very unlikely. Just not enough weight and power, even with 2 ATVs working in tandem to do something like that. I will uproot saplings and wild rose bushes with my Grizzly, but we are talking trees that are generally less than a couple of inches in diameter and wild rose bushes that aren’t too big (they do have shallow root systems when compared to trees). For pulling logs the ATV will do great but for stumps (if they aren’t too big) you will need a farm tractor or a bulldozer…

May I suggest a shovel, maybe a piece of 4 inch pipe, a good comfy set of sneakers you can run like he!! in, and about 2 sticks of dynamite per stump...

Chilly, you forgot to mention the most important part. Rember to TIE the shoelaces. Or better yet. Let your friend who owes you money lite the fuse..

As for actual removal of stumps, nothing beats a Cat for getting it done and it would be alot quicker. AlaskaBoy.

msm1018, Dynamite is not illegal in the USA, it is just controlled. A couple of forms and your in business. Contact ATF and see about the forms. AlaskaBoy.

yanking them out with your 4 wheelers sounds to me like somthing
would break.... just go to your local rent it shop (lowes) and rent a
stump grinder, or call a tree service company and get an estimate..

or if you really want to do it yourself.. dig up the ground around it
and burn it.. might take a day or two

Been my experience that even a large quad doesn't have a whole lot of pulling power. Just not enough weight to get the traction, even a big heavy pig like my Cat 500i. I tried pulling over a 10" thick locust tree with my Cat, after I had sawed partially through the trunk. Wanted to guide its fall as it was aimed right at some power lines. The quad just spun it's wheels, didn't budge the tree. Finally used my JD 1050, not a particularly large tractor, and it yanked that sucker right over.

I have dug up a couple of stumps with what my dad called a spud digger - a 6 foot long iron bar with a flat blade on one end. "it'll make a man out of you" was what Dad always said.
