Any 4x4 with racks and a low range will work. The Big Bear does not have a low Range sub tranny any longer like mine did. All Yamaha did was give it a extra low 1st gear to save the cost of the more expensive dual range 10 speed tranny they once had.

Even in High range the Big Bear was low geared machine so you should be ok, even with out a dedicated low range.

Diff lock also helps if you need extra pulling power or traction.

Got a 2000 Big Bear and a 1990 Honda Fourtrax 300. The Big Bear has a homemade rack on the back for hauling the dogs.

Outty Max XT 400 with the back seat off. Big enough for a moose quarter on each rack

Another vote for the Polaris X2! I posted a picture in another hunting thread but it seemed appropriate here too.

Thumbs up 2000 Suzuki LT-F300F King Quad

...I'll be using my newly acquired 2000 Suzuki LT-F300F King Quad 4x4. It has really big racks...locking diff...low and super-low ranges. A total of 15 forward gears.

I'm adding ITP Mud Lite AT tires with a 2000lb winch. Should make for a really nice hunting machine!
