If you want to see something detrimental to americas real past time, watch the movie the makers of the Grizzly Big Bore .50 Caliber made. In it they show all these fat rich guys shooting elk, bears, deer, moose, and caribou from between 2 to 4 thousand yards. Then they show one where they shoot an elk at 1500 yards and it blows a hole right through the middle probalby around the size of a 55 gallon drum. Then in bold letters flashes TOO CLOSE. It pisses me of so bad, hunting is about the stalk, and out smarting what ever your hunting. Not about sitting a mile away and dropping some animal. The arrogance of some people.

I have the model 110C Savage in 30-06. Its a good gun. I have taken many deer and moose with it. But If you want to be shooting over 300+ yards I would go with a 300 mag or a 7mm. the 300 mag has alittle flatter tragectory and a little more zip.


Anybody own a SAKO in 30-06? If so how does it perform?
