FAVORITE DEER RIFLE

In N.Dakota, a lot of shots can be 200-300 yards. The .300 can reach out that far and still have enough energy to do the job. Besides, I shoot the gun well and feel confident with it and it actually does less damage to the animal than my wifes 30.06. Of course I can't hear any more.

I used a Winchester model 70 30.06 for almost 20 years and it did a great job on Pennsylvania whitetails. I recently picked up a
Rem. 700 SS 7mm STW with a detachable magazine. This rifle really knocks them down but is very loud due to the muzzle brake. The first time I shot the gun with out hearing protection my ears rang constantly for a few weeks. I still have ringing in my left ear from time to time and now wear ear plugs while hunting. It sucks to have to wear them but I can still hear from my left ear and want to keep it that way.
Now that I live here in Kentucky I get to hunt both states. Kentucky has some wonderful whitetails too.

wyobullryder, which is it the 04 grizzly or the dodge?
in OHIO we are not aloud to use high power rifles, just shot guns or hand guns with a streight wall bullet. i do own a browning a-bolt 300 mag with the boss and a nicon scope.
i just got a ruger super red hawk 44 mag with 10" barrel, i need a scope for it. packing light in the woods is what im looking for. but intill then i will use my 12 ga.

327 small block with white painted metal around it in the shape of a 02 chevy silverado 1500 4X4...... well it isnt my favorite gun to use to hunt deer but it could easily be my most effective if I didnt always hit the brakes just in time.... If im actually out to hunt one I prefer a 270.
