Texas Opening Rifle Season Next Week
Ok guys while shooting by last box of cartridges buildng my confidence to a 3 shot group to 1.5" I was speaking with another hunter telling me things that are starting to freak me out.
Things Like:
1) The acorns are in full effect and while bow hunting has not seen any bucks due to not coming out of oak thickets.
2) The above normal records temps here in OCT has suppressed the rut
Please .... texas bow hunters that have been in the field all ready.... I need help.. It is a week away before I go and I want to feel better.
PS) If you dont have good news for me then just lie

The extended forecast shows lows in the 40's and 50's next week in East Texas. Of course it won't take it long to heat back up. I found a nice set of rubs last weekend while doing some light scouting in the Davy Crockett National Forest.
When all else fails, you can always expect a wild hog or two to show up no matter what the weather.
