New Stihl chain saw with easy adjust chain
#1
Yesterday I bought one of Sthil's smaller chain saws with the easy adjust chain. That was a very slick idea. Now the chain slack can be adjusted in just a few seconds. I haven't tore into it yet to see how easy or hard it will be to change a chain but right now I'm happy.

I Bought a cheap polan chainsaw a couple winters ago. It has the quick tightening system. Biggest POS I have ever seen. I hope stihl has a better system on theirs. Good luck. I guess if it don't work you can use it for a wheel chock like I do.

we have a poulan POS also. After 1 year of use the handguard and brake had fallen off, the bolts that hold the bar on pulled out while tightening(with the normal wrench and not overtightening), bolts for the exhaust came off numerous times, the on/off switch never worked(you have to put it on full choke to shut it off), the housing craked in a few different spots causing bar oil leaks, the bar adjusting screw stripped out, and the casing surrounding it broke so the screw falls out now, almost forgot, The engine has no more compression. We bought a stihl 360pro a little bit later and its a thing of beauty. It's very convienent to have the adjusting screw on the side. And os of right now nothing has broken. I'm surprised poulan's are even on the market.

Comparing Poulan to Stihl chainsaws is a lot like comparing French cars to Toyota or Honda, lol. I have yet to see a Stihl chainsaw that wasn't a reliable runner.

Yeah stihl are the best, husky is daggon good just stihl is better, they are just brute tough. I can attest I have seem some unbelievable stuff out of a stihl. That Quick adjust is great, I saw it at the Paul Bunyon show. It works good and has no problems! I bought the new ms280 you can't even feel it running in your hands, its smooth!

have used all three and found that stihl is the toughest saw, better contruction, better cylinders and two ring piston. husky was the easiest and cheapest to repair, good layout on the carb , body parts ,etc. spent a few years repairing them for a company i worked for. have a poulin that i use for three years now and have found it satisfactory , air filter system is set up with foam like a lawnmower, pump on side like a lawnmower, at least it helps in the starting part. body parts resemble a husky.i believe mine was of austrailian design and probably from south pacific parts. found it to be reliable on the trail and last weekend i cut up three truckloads of wood from trees in my back yard. i believe the saw was designed and sold as a low end walmart type product $180.00 cdn. good value for the money. now the price of stihl and husky have gone down and probably are a better buy
