Check with your local feed and grain stores. They usually have a "house" blend of food plot seeds that are specifically blended for your area of the country. They can save you some time, headachs and money.
Good luck.

Heywood is right. We just planted some today(boy was it ever hot). We used japenese millet(sp), seed house blens and a little biologic. Did the same thing last year with good results. I will try to post some pic's im a month or 2 to show results.
Hey heywood, we need to ride together this winter, lol, after deer season.

We have planted Biologic in the past & had moderate success. Our problem is we hunt in a dry climate & were slaves to the amount of rainfall we had. One year we had plenty of rain & it came up good , the other was a dry year & we waisted our money. We have had much better luck with feeding protien from a gravity feeder. The deer come to it when needed & leave it alone when they don't. The first year we fed protein , I checked the drum in May & again in June & they weren't touching it , then when the dry months hit & they ran out of browse & forbs to eat , the level in the drum dropped like nobody's business. We have absolutely seen a difference in antler growth since giving them supplemental protein though so you're correct in wanting to try something. One other point is if you feed corn , you shouldn't plant the food plot next to the corn feeder. I attended a siminar given by a well known biologist ( Horace Gore ) & he said when deer hang around in a confined place like by a feeder they poop & pee a lot on the same feed that they're injesting. They get some kind of microbe that is bad for them so if you plant your foodplot in the same place it compounds the problem. They also need to feel safe when feeding in the plot so it needs to be in an inclosed area where they feel safe. Hope this helps.
