Got into a bunch of elk on Friday, was in em for 4 hours. Had a couple big bulls screeching at us, 60 yards away. 6x6 and a raghorn in velvet. ended up sneaking up on a cow, got to within 35 yards, launched an arrow, she jumped the string I couldn't believe it. Dang indian guns, if it was my 44 I'da had tenderloins for dinner that night. Anyway a hugely exciting hunt in terrifically difficult terrain (Bitteroot mountains). Soon as my legs quit hurting I'm back out but maybe just pop a whitetail outa my tree stand then go back up for the big ones. They're bugling hard right now probably for another 10 days or so. Good stuff!

I went and saw a bear, 9 turkeys, 3 does, 2 fawns, a 6pt(4X2..lol), a spike, a tan BOBCAT and a dandy 9pt which I shot.

The 9pt pics are on my pic page.....he was chasing the bobcat out of the brush, no I'm not joking!
It was kinda interesting for a couple minutes though since I didn't see the buck at first (damn leaves) and grabbed the camera when I saw the bobcat come rippin' out of the brush and was just getting ready to take his picture when I looked back and saw the buck about 15 feet away looking at me. BUSTED.
My new camo must have been worth it cuz after a couple minutes he forgot all about me and walked behind a clump of maples giving me enough time to hang up the camera and draw by bow and let one fly.

My nicest bow buck by far.

Good luck to all of my fellow bow hunters
Jeff

Awesome buck...that's a good one with a rifle, and a great trophy with a bow.

Default bow huntin!

Season opened here on Sept. 17th, but didn't get out, working that weekend and the next, just got the stands set up this week, been tied up, still getting jacked around by the insurance company over storm damage to my house from the Labor Day weekend tornado, got 4 big trees dropped on my house, still have 2 of them stuck in the roof, had to plywood over them to keep most of the rain out, I can see a tree sticking out of my living room wall as I type this ! That and some sneaky bas- tord keeps stealing my hunting stuff ,last year he got one of my stands and all my tree steps, off my private land yet !!. On a good note, while making one more pass with the trail mower and setting up the stands, there were three fresh scrapes, one only 10 yards from my son's stand, and lots of tracks, so once I get out, it should be ok, just waiting for the temp to drop, the warm wet weather has awakened the skeeters, and boy are they hungry !!
