i am in need of some help i am looking for someone who has bought a troy bilt generator model 1919 5500 watt model within this year i have one and and as i went to use it this past weekend 1rst time i ever even ran it less than a gallon of gas it burnt up the circuit breakers and the electric panel lowes said take it to a service center the service center wants to see my reciept!!!!!!! thats what i need from somebody i cant find mine anywhere i swore i gave it to the wife she says im crazy if some one can helpme post a copy of your reciept on my email address i would greatly appreciate it and i might get back on the wifes good side if there is one email address colt2245p@yahoo.com thanks

 

Big odds against finding a duplicate receipt. A service center will bill Troy as warranty work and I'm sure proof of ownership is part of their documentation process of original owner. If you can't duplicate the receipt, I suggest emailing Troy the serial number for date of manufacture & who it was shipped to, get that, hope the date works, and then write a letter to Lowes Corporate Council threatening small claims court. If you had to go to court, with your wife and a neighbor or friend as to testify ownership and where it was purchased, (if you include all that in a letter I think they'll fold) you would win. Many states have low limits for small claim judgements, so make sure West By God's covers the generator cost. A hassle, but you know the alternative. Don't let some faceless power like Lowes push you around. Generators don't come cheap.

 

How did you pay for it? If you wrote a check you may be able to use the canceled check as a receipt. If you used a credit card you can ask the credit card company for a copy of the receipt. If you used cash but can remember the day and time that you bought it, the stor may go back and make a copy of their receipt.
