well man, you know it is really up to you, you have so many three options
tell him he cant come b/c of the lady
sneak him on the property (78 acres is hard to find 1 person)
dont go b/c of the feelings of his you will break(depends on how emotional your friend is)..if he odnt care then tell him he cant come but if your not willing to lose a friend then dont go

my opinion not yours....cyah

Does she know something about him that you didn't post? Or does she have something against him? The whole situation sounds $hity. I'd have a sit down with the hag and try to influence her. You may have to offer your friend doing her yardwork.

no not that i am aware of. anyway, had a talk with him yesterday in the deer woods. i explained the situation to him. me & the other guy done all we could to get him acess to this property. he agrees that john & i have no say in this matter. told him to talk to the lady on his own. he is a painter, and going to offer some free work on her home in return for letting him hunt and of course john & i will help him with this work. but he was very understanding about the whole thing. if it dont work, he does not want john & i to miss this chance to hunt this great place. true friends are hard to come by. we always try to be respectful of other peoples property & do not trespass. hunters & atv riders do not need another black eye, good areas around where i live is very hard to find.

lol I know this isn't right but what the lady doesn't know won't hurt her I'd just sneak him on the land she won't find out but thats probably what i'd do but hey who listens to a kid?

Your right...what she doesnt know wont hurt her until someone gets shot because she told them only 2 can come in. No offense David, but actions like these what you just described, might be causing hunters like me to HAVE TO PAY TO HUNT. More and more landowners are refusing people "free access" to their property because people wont respect their rules. Please dont advise people to go against the landowners wishes.

LOL...Cobra....you where typing yours while I was typing mine BTW......nice 11 pt'er!!!!

Thanks! Took him 2 seasons ago...well I guess its 3 now. Not bad for a first deer, still looking to do better though.

And 368741, Good call on having a talk with your buddy. With a little luck you guys all might be able to get to hunt the property.

I am in the exact same boat, a close friend of mine Lives in spain at this time, but had lived state side for a better part of 15 years.
When he moved back to spain to help his aging mother and father he left Me and My Dad to look over and hunt and cut dead trees from his 60 acres.

It has been very hard to not let friends hunt on the land, and also been hard not to cut Live trees for wood heat. But some day I Will have to face him eye to eye again and I do not want that guilt fealing in my heart.

But my so called buddies have had no problem laying a guilt trip on me saying "he will never know he is in spain"

I am very lucky to have hunting/walking/atving/land. He did not have to sign it over to us as land tentants/caretakers.

Its all about honor to me

My compliments on your integrity. Honor being something many posters advocating 'getting around the restriction' (on many topics) seemingly lack.

Agreed, your friend is lucky to have someone he can trust with his land.

I would respect the lady’s wishes. Not doing so would jeopardize my opportunity to hunt, and would also show my lack of integrity to the whole community. Who will want to let you use their land then? Why does this lady not want your friend on her land? Has he given her reason to question his integrity? There are many things my friends don’t know about me. Or perhaps she only wants to have a limited number of people out there?

It's the land owners decision. Hunt it and be happy your are, the other friend should understand, if not maybe he's not that good of a friend.
Good luck
