I will be clearing new wooded property this summer and am afraid of accidently stepping on a Copperhead and would like to get a pair of comfortable snake boots. Does anyone have any experience with a good fitting pair? I've looked at Cabela's and Rocky's so far.

Yes...I have 4 pair of Rockies. I wear them for deer hunting, atv riding, turkey hunting and all hunting and scouting. Whatever brand you get, get the authentic Gore Tex. My uncle bought a pair of Bass Pro snake boots and the waterproofing was actually that the boot was lined in black plastic!!!!! He doesnt wear them because they are way too hot.

Gore Tex is good stuff. Do you think the Rocky snake boots would be comfortable enough to wear all day while chain sawing and clearing trails, etc?
Thanks,
Patrick

I know it is easier said than done, but dont let snakes prevent you from enjoying yourself. 4 years ago I had a copperhead rub up against my boot while putting a ladder stand up....pretty freaky ...but snake bites are pretty rare, unless you really disturb them. Good luck and let me know how you like them.
