for the deer a 300 mag. shot one at about 25 feet and one at about 450 yds....i also hunt with a 44 mag pistol 8" barrell i have taken 3 deer with it in the past years also.

And I currently have a thread goin for a rifle. Kinda wondering if a 338 win mag is overkill. I can always get another in a couple years for smaller game though (i.e., deer). I've exclusively gone bow for deer in the past.
