Coyotes can't run as fast as I thought

seemed pretty easy to run down that coyote this evening, that saved about four lambs, a calf and three deer...
When specifically hunting for coyotes it seems their acme rockets work very well if they catch on, but not fast enough if I catch em red handed inside the fence while on the ride.

Caught a coyote out in an open bean field yesterday. He went about 40 for 100 yards, about 35 another 200, then fell down to just under 30MPH. I could always catch up with him, but he would turn quick, and double back on me until he made it into some corn that hadn't been harvested yet & got away.
Today I took along a gun when I had to go that way again, but no coyote.

I chased one out on the dunes at night with my banshee. I chased it for a good 3-4 minutes. I was right on its tail the entire time even when it tried to juke me. I know it was probably unethical to do, but there was a local bounty out for coytes. Now I know the adrenaline cops must feel when they are on high speed car chases...it is a rush chasing something and trying to anticipate its next move. (I wouldn't dare chase any other animal though. Well maybe bunny rabbit if it had big teeth and posed a threat.) (=
