yeah, the year was kinda slow around here in nc. we had a bad case of "blue tongue disease" around here. we found 8 bucks on our hunting club land. desent bucks too. (6-8 pointers). in other surounding counties rumors of finding alot more. a buddy of mine hunts in edgecombe county and they found 22 dead on there club land. i only saw about 10 deer all season.and i hunted ever weekend. i did bag 2 does and 2 bucks. a 7-pointer (would have been an 8 but one of it's brow-tines was broken off) 17 1/2" weighing about 215 lbs. real heavy for around here. and the other buck was an 8 pointer only 15 1/2" wide but had g2s and g3s 10 - 11" long.

Just moved here from southwestern Pa. I hunted on a friends farm in north central Ky. Got to my stand at around 7 am, saw this deer working his way through the woods at about 7:40. To my amazment it was a really nice buck. My first shot was a total miss, the deer starts to run and that's when the panic set in, I thought I blew it. But for some reason he decided to stop in a small opening in the trees. My Remington 700 SS in 7mm STW caliber did it's job when I fired the second time. This was the largest deer I've ever got. He has 8 points and is 18 inches wide. I think I'm going to like it here in Kentucky!!!
