I think if you are going to spend that much money it should be on ammo and not on the gun. Buy yourself a SKS in the same caliber. It should run you about 150 and you can get high capacity magazines for it. Try for the russion model and not the chinese model (better built). You can check if the gun is original because all parts should have the serial number engraved in them and the gun should come packed in a very heavy grease. You can buy 7.62 x 39mm bullets for around $75 for 1,000 rounds!

if it is a 30 round magazine it is most likely double stacked. because i think most single stacks are 10 round and i don't believe they are as easy to find. you can find mags for ak's at trading posts and flea markets around here for very cheap and most are in good condition. you might try ebay or something for better prices on a gun like that. i had a mak 90 for about 4 months and paid $225 for it brand new in box. i bought at a local trading post tho. its nothing but a semi auto ak with a crappy thumbhole stock. but i would check some of those gun auction site or ebay for better prices.

i have a chinese sks, i think my dad got it for like a $100 bucks 8 years ago. i got a 30rd clip in it right now but it fits like sh*t. the front metal tab that slides into the mount isnt quite long enough so im gonna take it back and get a different one. just look for that if you get a clip and make sure before you get one take out the stock magazine and take it with you to make sure that tab is the same size, but they are only 20 bucks so you aren't out much. also shells are just around 2 bucks per 20 if you get the full metal jackets.

There are two Chinese manufacturers, Norinco and Poly Tech. Only buy the Poly Tech.

i agree with BSA about that. i have a norinco sks that i bought almost 9 years ago, and although it looks nice, other than the stock looked all used and beat up, but it was new. it doubles all the time, which means sometimes it will keep shooting. this isn't an on purpose thing either. but he wasn't talking about an sks. he was talking about an ak. i have seen those sar-1 in shotgun news and on the net, they are nice. just check around in shotgun news or on a gun auction site, and you might find one you like better that is cheaper.

I meant only Poly Tech for AK47, AKM or SKS.

dude you seem to know quite a bit about guns. guns and quads use to be my life when i was younger, but i moved out of that when i sold my sport, and kinda lost a little interest in guns.
