Hello,
Just bought my first bike 2001 350 trx love it, recently did the valves up if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.
Wondering about cooling fan mine doesn't seem to be coming on, maybe it is too cold yet but I would like to test it or the sensor any suggestions.

Like HawkeyeRider suggested let it idle or ride it untill your legs get hot and uncomtable , in most cases i've found that a ground wire that's not getting a good connection causing the fan from coming on ; on my first quad (86' Honda TRX350 Foreman fulltime 4x4 ) the fan worked about 2 months and quit working and i had a friend who had the very same problem one week after he got it !
He took it back to the DealerShip and they replaced the heat sensor under warranty , only to have it go out a month later and Dealer wouldn't cover another new one under warranty they wanted $89.99 + tax and labor ; so he just hooked the wires to a waterproof toggle switch i on the other hand bought the toggle switch and hookup wire with an inline fuse block but i never did get around to installing it !
I rode it without the fan working for over 18 yrs. without a problem , i would just stop and take a brake to allow it to cool down when my seat and leg's felt uncomfortable and never had a problem with overheating ; my present quad (2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto 4x4 ) Fan started making a low squalling sound when it first cycle's on for just a few second's then squealling stop's untill it cycles on again !
My local Dealer is a good friend and has given me nut's bolt's and fastners at know cost , she will most likely give me new bearing's to replace the bad one's since i do my own labor ; i just have to catch her when she's at the shop when she's not racing good luck with the quad and i hope it's nothing to costly !

Do you even have to worry about the fan,it only assist the oil cooler the oil cooler will still do its reroute the oil to give it time to cool off before retuning to the motor job without the fan.
My 89 350 4wd Yamaha Big Bear had thousands of hard miles on it and it had a small oil cooler with no fan assist period. I had 250 ATV with both no fan or oil cooler.
either fix the fan or remove it for good so it does not block air flow through the oil cooler would be my choice.
