Default '84 honda big red

took this on a trade overall great shape but wires are dangling and has no spark, jump forward to.......I already replaced the primary coil behind flywheel, reluctant to begin buying other ignition components without some insight, Anyone? switch is missing, wires dangling could this just be a matter of twisting the proper wires?

Probably just a matter of twisting the proper wires. I don't know much about your situation didn't post enough info but thats probably it.

well the thing came to me with wiring hanging everywhere, starter disconnected battery missing starter wiring butched, headlight section pretty much the same, so I began with resistance check at the primary wire below , coming from behind recoil assembly, that's ok, but from there I'm at a loss where to turn, or what wires to twist, of course the dealerships won't even think about something that old.
I was hoping to just get the pull start function going then pick away at restoring the elec. start, I picked up a replacement secondary coil (under the tank) as well as cdi box and pulse gen. tho they were from salvage and questioinable, I'm wondering if I should just get new components , like I did with the primary coil. poked around on these enough to know however that often those expensive cdi, coils, etc. weren't bad to start with, just a wire off somewhere, any idea what to look for to dtermine bad or good cdi?

There is only one way I know to determine a bad CDI is too put it in another 84 Honda Big Red that runs and see if it starts. I am not an expert but I hope that helps. I am pretty sure a Honda dealer would look at something that old.my Polaris dealer has a bunch of old 80's Trail Bosses in there shop so I can't see a Honda dealer not helping you with your bike because its old.

Fyi just to let you know. The off run switch works by grounding so when you twist the wires together it won't fire. They are soppose to be separate to start.

Ok I understand it now, I never owned a Honda soo I didn't know...
