Default Got my first ATV

Hi all,

just got my first ATV. A 2008 Polaris Sportsman 800 Touring. I am only 62 so I hope I am not too young for one. I will say it is much nicer now when you can see something you want and pay for it at the same time. Anyway, Hi to all

Welcome to the forums. I would recommend starting with a 50cc youth model at your age. If you're too young that'd make me an infant at 48. Seriously, if you haven't ridden much or at all, I'd recommend a safety course and taking it easy for awhile as you get to feeling comfortable with the machine.

Thanks for the reply Moosehenden. I had been giving some thought to training wheels but couldn't figure out how to hook up the drive shaft to them.

I have ridden Harleys for years. Had my first Harley in 1973. My brother lives in Colorado and has a 700 and a 500. I have ridden those a little in the mountains. I also have 10 acres to run around on. So, I am learning slowly.

I have probably got 40 miles on 4 wheelers now. When do you think I should try high gear?

Hey TacticalRedneckofKentucky,
As much as a two wheeled Harley cost, I don't think I could afford a four wheeled one.

Maybe after I hit the lottery.
