Default New Member, NEW to ATV's!

Hello all, my name is Tony. I just traded a boat for an ATV. I've never had one or even ridden one before, so I don't know ANYTHING.

The machine I now have is a 2006 Kawasaki Prarie 360 4x4. It seems like a nice bike, in decent shape. It's got a dead battery, but pull starts easily. It goes in and out of gears smoothly, and also goes in and out of 4WD with no issues.

The only negative is the "BELT" light keeps flashing, and there is a funny sound coming from the right side. behind a black cover. Sounds like a torn belt, to me, which would make sense.

But besides that, it seems like a nice ATV. I'd like to eventually get a snow plow attachment, because I live 1/2 mile down a gravel road, and when it snows (We got 14 inches a couple of weeks ago, believe it or not) it's a pain getting out, since my truck is not 4WD.

I'll post the question in the Kawasaki forum, but otherwise, hello, and thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome. Sounds like a pretty easy diagnosis.

If you're up for it, purchase a service manual and tear into it.

Thanks for the welcomes and the suggestions to get a book. Will go search on Ebay and Half.com for one now.

Thanks!
