Newbie 05 Polaris sportsman 500 owner
Hey people, Ben here and we just purchased 2005 sportsman 500 and its power as a horse! Just glad to see this forum to learn more information and tips for this beautiful ride so I signed up.

Welcome! Good machine. I know it's been over 9 years now,but make sure you have a SILVER colored ecm module under the front panel and not a black finned Chinese module.A bunch of machines still around that never had this recall done even when I retired. New Polaris 2004 2005 2006 Sportsman Scrambler 400 500 Surepower ECM 2203348 | eBay

Thanks also for the heads up old polaris tech, I believe its been fixed by the previous owner as he mentioned about the recall and changing the ecm.
